About Us

Growing Minds Preschool was established in 2002.  We are excited to begin our 13th school year in the Sellersburg community.  Kerri Eckert and Robin Long, along with our certified teachers, strive to teach the whole child as well as to encourage family and community involvement.

Special Programs

Handwriting Without Tears (more info)

This handwriting program is developmentally appropriate and hands-on specifically designed for the preschool child.  When learning handwriting, your child will be exposed to a variety of manipulatives and writing tools such as mini chalkboards, roll-a-dough letters, flip crayons, wood pieces, and stamp and see screen.

Winter Program

All family and friends are welcome to join in celebrating the winter season with music and songs.  Can goods will be collected during this time and donated to a local food pantry.

Graduation Program

Parents, grandparents, and friends are all welcome to see the preschool students sing songs, recite poems, and be honored for achievements.

School Pictures

A professional photographer will take individual and class photos in the spring.

Scholastic Book Fair

Come meet Clifford and see many great reading selections specifically chosen for the preschool age, interest, and reading ability.  All profits go back to Growing Minds Preschool classrooms so that new products and books can be enjoyed by all students.

* Previous years, Earth & Fire have come to the school for these events.

Service Learning Projects

At Growing Minds Preschool, we want our students to learn what a great feeling "giving" to others can be.

* Previous projects have included:
- giving cookies to Sellersburg Police Station monthly
- visiting Maple Manor Nursing Home to interact with residents and giving/hanging crafts and paintings on resident's doors
- can good collection for local food pantry
- school supply collection for the children of Afghanistan
- collecting blankets and stuffed animals for the children of Haiti
- sponsoring Angel Tree families
